EINKORN Crepes

Have you purchased the Einkorn Pancake and Waffle Mix yet?  I got it at Young Living Convention and have been excited to experiment with it.  On the side of the box is a crepe recipe.  I have never made crepes, but I love them, so I decided to give it a try.  If it is your first time as well, my tip to you is double your recipe.  It takes a couple tries to get it right. (Oh, and the syrup comes out fast!)

DESCRIPTION (back of box):  Gary’s True Grit Einkorn Pancake and waffle mix combines ancient einkorn wheat and other healthful grains with a special blend of ground legumes, added for a concentrated source of protein and fiber, making this a nutritious and tasty meal that will be enjoyed by the entire family.

Einkorn is the original “staff-of-life” grain, known as the oldest variety of wheat, which dates back to the beginning of time.  Einkorn’s natural genetic code and low gluten levels make it a superior choice because of its compatibility with the human body when compared to the modern , hybrid wheat of today.

Einkorn wheat is easier to digest, so nutrients are better absorbed, thus promoting the proper functions of the digestive system.

Today, Young Living is helping to bring einkorn wheat back to its rightful prominence in the world.

Gary’s True Grit Mix has 0.53% gluten content

YLConvention 2014

This was my very first Young Living Convention.  I am so thankful for the opportunity to go and see first hand how wonderful our company is and how serious they are about Young Living standards.  Convention was in Salt Lake City, Utah this year.  We stayed at The Hilton which is right across the street from the convention at the Salt Palace.

Monday, Day 1

When we first arrived we went to a leadership session with several great speakers.

IMG_4602

First, Darren Hardy is the publisher and founding director of SUCCESS magazine. Hardy is a businessman, author, private equity investor, keynote speaker, corporate advisor, and a mentor to CEOs and entrepreneurs.  He  spoke on 21st Century Leadership.

A few of my favorite take aways:

Lead by example – behavior never lies

Leaders set the pace – people don’t go as fast as they can, they go as fast as they are being led

How do you get people to do what you want?  Ask yourself 2 questions: What do you want?  (list 12 top attributes you want)  Do I demonstrate these attributes?

Everybody recruits: military, colleges, sports, charities, religious, corporations

The best businesses have the best people.  Great people aren’t trained, they are found

Sell You! You are the living spokesperson for Young Living.  They are going to buy it if you believe it and exemplify it.   You can’t convince someone of something you don’t believe yourself.

Change SELL to HELP!  Help people better themselves, focus on how you can help them instead of what they can do for you.

Monkey See Monkey Do – You are always training someone

Then Connie Podesto, Award-Winning Author, Comedian, and Expert in the Psychology of Human Relations.  She was funny and identified our personalities and taught me I was a triangle.

Last but not least was our founder, Gary Young.  He is so passionate about what he does, it is contagious!  He encouraged us all to Dream Big, Live our Dream and don’t let people squash our dreams!

Some more take aways:

We are created to do great things!

If you are not self-evaluating yourself, somebody else will.

I can’t = I won’t

After leadership session, they had a Welcome Party with tons of food, desserts and a Ningxa bar.  We met up with some of our team here.

Tuesday night we attended a fancy Gala.  It was fun to get all dressed up.  They had bottles of Ningxa Red on our tables.

and it get even better…

We have facebook groups that offer so much support, that we will add you too!  We are all just one giant family.  Everyone is always so willing to help each other out.

Young Living does not require you to sell, distribute or making monthly purchases.  The kit includes the yearly wholesale membership fee.  If you buy the kit and never want to purchase another item, you can do that.  I don’t recommend it, but that is how great this company is.

Young Living has been in business for 20 years (more on this later)!  They own their own farms and have an open door policy.  If you want to stop by and help plant they will put you to work.

I get to visit the farms next week, eek!  I can’t wait!!!  I hope to take pictures and share them when I get home.

Summer is almost here and that means, bug bites, blisters and boo-boos are too, so lets prepare ourselves.  Mix this up in a small plastic spray bottle and keep it in your purse, swim bag, diaper bag….

First-Aid Spray

Mix above oils thoroughly in 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Add this to 8 ounces of distilled water and shake vigorously. Put in a small spray bottle. Spray minor cuts and wounds before applying bandage. Repeat 2-3 times daily for 3 days. Complete the healing process by applying a drop or two of tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil to the wound daily for the next few days.
