Summer is almost here and that means, bug bites, blisters and boo-boos are too, so lets prepare ourselves. Mix this up in a small plastic spray bottle and keep it in your purse, swim bag, diaper bag….
5 drops lavender
3 drops tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
2 drops cypress
Mix above oils thoroughly in 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Add this to 8 ounces of distilled water and shake vigorously. Put in a small spray bottle. Spray minor cuts and wounds before applying bandage. Repeat 2-3 times daily for 3 days. Complete the healing process by applying a drop or two of tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil to the wound daily for the next few days.
The School year is almost over and EVERY teacher is in need of some serious relaxation time!! Lets gift our teachers with some relaxation tools.
Whip up this great Lavender Bath Salt and put it inside a mug, with a tea bag and a chap stick (I will share the chap stick recipe in another post).
Lavender Bath Salts
4 tablespoons Lavender Castille soap
1 bag of Lavender Epsom Salt (you can also buy plain, I mixed both)
15 drops of Young Living Lavender Essential Oil
1 tablespoon Vanilla
Mix the soap, vanilla and Lavender oil together, then add the Epsom salt and mix well!
I used clear treat bags to scoop it in and the put it in the mug.
This is my favorite bath salt! It is so refreshing and wakes me up on a groggy morning.
4 tablespoons Dr. Bronner’s Citrus Soap
8 drops YL Tangerine essential oil
8 drops YL Grapefruit essential oil
4 cups Epsom salt
Mix the soap and oils. Pour mixture over Epsom salts. Mix well. Give as a gift or enjoy for yourself!
Bugs love me! I hate bugs!!!
Most bug sprays smell so bad and are sticky so, I never want to use them. This smells wonderful and is good for you. It absorbs into your skin and is not sticky. It is also safe and effective for your dog.
4 drops YL Citronella essential oil
4 drops YL Lemongrass essential oil
4 drops YL Rosemary essential oil
4 drops YL Eucalyptus essential oil
4 drops YL Peppermint essential oil
fill your spray bottle with witch hazel (about 1/4 cup)
shake, spray and enjoy!
It calms me down just thinking about Peppermint!
Peppermint was the first essential oil I ever used and what sold me on signing up for the Premium Starter Kit with Young Living.
Last June, I offered to help out with Wild Week (VBS for 5th and 6th graders) at our church. About day 3 I was hitting the VBS slump and was getting a headache. A friend had just purchased a Premium Starter Kit (PSK) and had it with her. She also had a reference book with her. I the oils and started smelling them and opened the reference book to headaches. Put a drop in my hand, rubbed it on my temples and then cupped my hands over my nose and took a deep breath. Within 5 minutes my headache was gone and did not return. I also had enough energy to make through the rest of the day with 5th and 6th graders. MIRACLE!
Also in June, my 8 year old son was playing baseball in the AAYBA World Series and he over heated. We had seen other kids that week overheat and leave in an ambulance or have to leave the field on the medic golf cart. So, naturally I was worried to say the least when it was my own son. A friend came running over with her Peppermint oil and told me to put a few drops on the back of his neck and his temples. Within 10 minutes his color was back and he was ready to play again. The medics were all so pleased at his recovery.
After these 2 experiences I knew I needed my own YL PSK and Reference book. It had been a rough school year for our son due to being diagnosed with Migraines, Asthma…struggling with Bronchitis and many other things and every breathing treatment made his lymph nodes in his armpits swell and it was very painful. We needed to try a natural alternative for his health.
I am proud to report that it has been almost a year and he only missed 1 day of school and that is because we went on a fabulous vacation to Disney World. He is reminded when anyone else is sick that God has blessed him with a very healthy year. He is also thankful for YL Peppermint and RC (another post). Any time he feels a headache symptom or even the slightest cough he will ask me for oils.
If you are interested in trying Peppermint or getting your own Young Living Premium Starter Kit, let me know.
